Mom's Got a Case of the Monday's

Summer has really been taking it's toll on me. Multiple times a week I find that I have been thinking it was a Tuesday when it was Saturday or worse yet, I get a Case of the Monday's and it's not even Monday!

With the kids out of school I have been sleeping in a "little" more than I normally would and I end up not being as tired at night when I should be going to bed. The later I stay up the later I sleep and the more of a deep sleep I'm in when it's time to get up with the kids, which stinks! This leads to more's a vicious cycle!

It's not that I wish they'd go back to school already, it's that I prefer the routine. Sleeping in rocks but not when it affects other parts of your day and life. I quite like my morning routine of drinking coffee and getting the kids up, fed and ready for their day.

This summer, all too often, by the time I look at the clock it's 11am. We're all in our PJ's, the kids haven't brushed their hair so it's all crazy and matted up in the back, one hasn't eaten breakfast yet and the others are ready for lunch! We're all messed up!

Maybe this post should be titled "Every day is Groundhog Day" instead of "A Case of the Monday's"?

Share with me, how has summer affected your routine, if at all? Does everything stay the same or do you feel it throws everything out of whack? Commiserate with me!

I'm glad that my son hasn't started school yet because of exactly this, I'm glad I have another year to crack down and get a good schedule going cuz home schooling is gonna be super hard...

I like having a schedule as a mom. It is hard when you wake up and realize the morning is gone and nothing has been done yet.

My husband and I feel the same way, everyday during the week seems like a rerun.

We don't have kids in school yet, but my husband teaches highschool, so we get a little relaxed during the summer on the days he dosen't go to his summer job. We enjoy it thoough - we have 3 day weekends every weekend of the summer! On the otherhand, we aren't too far off of our schedule because my boys rarely sleep past 7:30!

This is how I feel on days I don't work. It's hard to keep a schedule when you work random hours and days and on my days off I always think I'm gonna get so much done and boom, it's already noon and me and little one are still in pjs.

I am a stay at home mom to a 2 year old and it hasn't affected us at all yet. I love summer! Finally able to get outside and not be cooped up in the house all the time :)
