I just read some encouraging, but not surprising, results to a poll over at Breastfeeding 1-2-3 regarding Cloth -v- Disposable diaper usage among breastfeeding mothers. The respondents to their poll chose cloth diapers over disposable diapers 2 to 1.
"I was curious to see whether a majority of breastfeeding mothers prefer cloth diapers to disposables for their babies and the answer is a resounding yes!"
The reason I do not find the results of this poll surprising is because cloth diapering is more prevalent across the natural parenting community. These parents strive toward more "natural" parenting methods, for example, choosing the breast over the bottle and cloth over disposables.
An increasingly popular mode of parenting called Attachment Parenting promotes these parenting choices as one more way to be sensitive to the needs of your child, thereby becoming more "attached". But whether or not attachment is the goal, it seems clear (by this poll at least) that there is a strong correlation between breastfeeding moms and cloth diaper usage.
