What makes FAB FITTEDS so absorbent?

The absorbent inner core of Thirsties Fitted Diaper is composed of a 100% polyester microfiber terry. Though we never recommend leaving a baby in a wet fitted diaper, there are times when it can't be helped - like night time, nap times, long car rides, and when others are caring for your child in day care or home care situations. It is nice to know that the microfibers within the soaker pad of a Thirsties Fab Fitted Diaper are finer than silk and up to 30 times finer than cotton. In diaper terms, that means that the Thirsties Fab Fitted diaper has more surface area to absorb and to evaporate. With this increase in absorption and the subsequent drying capabilities, baby's skin is protected even more from pressure induced wicking, as well as the moisture AND bacteria that can build up inside a damp fitted diaper that doesn't dry sufficiently. If you've ever put a disposable diaper on a baby, you know EXACTLY how to put on a Thirsties Fab Fitted diaper. Lay baby atop open diaper, wrap wings around left and right of baby's waist and secure in front - right at the belly button - with the dual cross over Aplix Velcro closures.

Please note: Thirsties Fab Fitted Diapers will require a diaper cover. Of course, your first choice should be the Thirsties Diaper Cover, specifically made to embrace the Fab Fitted diaper with ease---offering a perfect combination of leakproof protection. Still, any wrap-styled or pull-on diaper cover will work over this fitted diaper. Fab Fitteds can also be worn with wool diaper covers.
