Even though they are considered reusable diapers, they still need to be changed out once soiled, therefore, parents using this cloth diapering system need to know how to properly wash and care for the bumGenius! DELUXE AIOs.

As with any cloth diaper, we recommend avoiding excessive uses of diaper ointments and creams; they can create a build-up causing your cloth diapers to repel, instead of absorbing urine. Of course, at times diaper creams cannot be avoided, in which case we suggest the use of a stay dry liner or even a biodegradable disposable liner to keep the diaper cream from coming into contact with the inner material on your bumGenius! AIO.

Washing bumGenius! DELUXE All-In-Ones

After changing a soiled bumGenius! All In One Cloth Diaper be sure to knock off any solid waste into the toilet. Secure the velcro tabs on each wing to the laundry fastening tab found in the upper back inside each bumGenius! AIO before placing in a dry diaper pail or straight into the wash load. This keeps the tabs from catching on other diapers or attracting lint in the washer and dryer.

The manufacturer suggests the following washing routine:

• Shake solids into toilet and store in dry pail.
• Fasten tabs to laundry tabs on inside of diaper.
• Wash warm, hot or cold with 1/4 cup additive free detergent.
• Rinse well with another full wash cycle on hot.
• Tumble dry medium.
• No bleach, no fabric softeners

Washing tip: Customers have great results washing on cold with detergent first, then two hot or warm washes with no detergent.

Absolutely. Just like anything that you put against baby's sensitive skin, you want to make sure it is absolutely fresh. In addition, you need to wash off any residue that might be left over from the manufacturing process that would reduce absorption and lend itself to leakage.

What Kind of Detergent Can I Use on bumGenius AIOs?

Although there are no specific detergents required for washing bumGenius! All In One Cloth Diapers, look for one that is free of dyes enzymes, perfumes, whiteners and brighteners. Use of detergents containing these ingredients may cause damage like elastic failure and leakage. Avoid additives like fabric softeners, baking soda and/or vinegar when washing bumGenius!
