Happy Heiny's Mama Cloth Mama Pads are made of five layers: an outer, single layer of PUL to prevent leaks; an inner, 2-layered soaker of trim, yet absorbent, hemp fleece; and a stain-resistant, custom-milled outer fleece layer that rests against Mama's skin. Each Mama Pad is newly designed with a longer wrap around wing span to prevent the pad from bunching up; the wings snap to hold the Happy Heiny's Mama Cloth Mama Pad in place.

Because Mama Pads must stand up to the same rigorous hot wash and dry cycles as cloth diapers, hemp fleece was chosen for the inner soaker layer. Hemp, a very durable fabric, works harder than regular cotton; hemp fleece can absorb and hold the flow of your menstrual cycle with less layers of fabric than regular cotton soakers. Hemp is also mold-resistant, an important attribute for a menstrual pad with multiple layers sewn together. As long as you keep to the same 2-3 day wash schedule you would with the Happy Heiny's One Size Diaper, you can be certain the Happy Heiny's Mama Cloth Mama Pads will remain fresh and mold-free.

Mama Pads are sold in packages of three and available in two lengths, regular and super. The Regular size pad is for "regular" flow days, while the Super size pad is longer and used for heavier flow days or night-time.
