Eucalan Woolwash

Eucalan Woolwash
Product Rating: review
Read Reviews Write a Review
Eucalan Wool Wash is low sudsing so no rinsing is required. Because this formula does not require rinsing, wool diaper covers experience less matting. Eucalan contain lanolin which helps in waterproofing wool diaper covers. Periodic lanolizing is still recommended.

Eucalan Washes your Wool Diaper Covers

Eucalan's Woolwash, available in Eucalyptus, Lavender and Unscented, is an environmentally friendly way to wash your wool diaper covers. First and foremost, Eucalan restores the natural lanolin lost from the wool fibers when washing. In addition to the convenience of not having to thoroughly rinse your wool diaper covers, the low-sudsing, "No-Rinse" liquid formula conserves water and allows for less handling, to avoid matting and shrinking the wool. Finally, not rinsing Eucalan from your wool diaper covers leaves in some of the eucalyptus or lavender oil as a natural inhibitor for moths and fleas when stored.

We recommend that you hand wash your wool soakers and wool diaper covers as you can cut back water use by at least 50% when using Eucalan. However, if necessary, Eucalan can be used for machine washing. Be sure to check the manufacturer's recommendations before putting wool diaper covers in the washing machine.

Eucalyptus, Lavender or the Unscented Eucalan?

Trying to decide between Eucalyptus, Lavender, or Unscented Eucalan Woolwash? The Eucalyptus and Lavender Eucalan Woolwash is scented with natural essential oils, and will serve as natural moth and flea inhibitors when storing you diaper covers or any other wool items; both will help prevent static cling. The Lavender has natural antiseptic properties and tends to be more calming and relaxing, while the Eucalyptus has a more masculine scent.

The Unscented Eucalan is best for those with scent sensitivities, but be aware that the Unscented Eucalan Woolwash does NOT contain the same moth inhibiting properties.

Is Eucalan easy on the skin?

The Eucalan company states that "unless the user is highly allergic to eucalyptus, lavender or lanolin" it will not harm the skin. They've even had reports of individuals having softer hands after doing their hand-laundry with Eucalan. It is safe and non-toxic for children, but obviously should be kept out of reach as with other natural cleaning products.

16.9 fl oz bottle, Eucalan will last for at least 5 years when stored in a cool, dry place.

Want to know the Eucalan ingredients?

Eucalan is made of Purified Water, AmmoniumLauryl Sulphate, Ammonium Chloride, PEG 75 Lanolin, Cocamide MEA, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Essential Oil (eucalyptus or lavender), Methylchloroisothiazolinone

I bought this wool wash when I bought my wool covers. It works well to wash them and lanolize it as well!

Eucalan cleans well and it blends well with lanolin. I've tried a few types of wool wash and find this the easiest to work with.

I recently started felting purses and found out about eucalan woolwash in a knitting booklet. I had never heard of it before. I wish I had known about it when my children were babies but they are all grown up and out of the house now. I love the way it smells and the fact that you do not need to rinse it out. Wow...it really makes the finished product smell so good. I just love it! I bought it in the eucalyptus and lavender scents! I highly recommend this product!

still need to lanolize 3/20/2011

Based on other reviews, I was hoping I wouldn't need to lanolize but my son must be a heavy wetter. I tried using just Eucalan on a new wool cover but it leaked the first night. Once I heavily lanolized we were good to go. So for us, the product description which recommends lanolizing was correct. The lavendar scent is nice and light; not perfumey at all imo.
