Bummis Diaper Totes are 100% Water Resistant!
Bummis Diaper Totes are one of the primary cloth diapering accessories we encourage families to purchase once they figure out what cloth diapers they want. These 100% water resistant, nylon diaper totes come in three different colors and four different sizes; the Large and X-Large sizes will fit into several different cloth diaper pails.
These diaper totes, although water resistant, are not considered waterproof. For this reason we do not recommend their use if you use a wet cloth diaper pail. Each of the Bummis diaper totes close with a drawstring and toggle, making them a convenient place to store and transfer diapers to and away from home.
What Size Bummis Tote Bag Should I Purchase?
Before you start adding diaper totes to your shopping cart, stop and consider HOW you will use the items. For instance, are you often out of the house with your cloth diapered baby or do you really only venture out once your spouse is home and you can go alone? Are you a working mother or are you a stay at home mother? Do you have your child in a Mother's Day Out program one or two times a week or is he/she in a regular Day Care? Knowing how often you leave home, and for what period of time, is the first step in deciding how many, and what sizes of, Bummis diaper totes you need.
The size small Bummis Tote is perfect for the diaper bag. It won't hold but 2-3 cloth diapers, but is easy enough to pull out of the diaper bag for changes in public restrooms. The drawstring and toggle gives you a bit of a loop to hang over the edge of a restroom's cloth diaper changing table or chair to free up space, and because it isn't large and cumbersome, many families will keep an extra size small Bummis Diaper Tote in the glove box or in the extra compartment between the front seats of their vehicles.
The size Medium Bummis Tote works best when you are gone a full day; also good for Mother's Day Out programs and day care centers. This tote will hold approximately 10 diapers, is not as portable, but serves its purpose as the next size up diaper tote.
Depending on the size of your diaper pail, you may want two Large or X-Large Bummis Diaper Totes at home (see below for the amount of diapers held by these sizes). One of these can be kept inside the diaper pail and the other will trade out with it on laundry day.
Laundry day is easier with Bummis Diaper Totes!
When it's time to do laundry, pull your Large or X-Large Bummis Diaper Tote out of the cloth diaper pail and replace it with a fresh one! Pull the drawstring and toggle close the soiled diapers to transport to your laundry room, or even a laundry facility nearby.
The X-Large tote fits our large 54 Quart cloth diaper pail, while the Large Bummis Diaper tote will fit a standard size, 13 gallon, trash can.

How to Wash and Care for Bummis Diaper Totes
The Bummis Diaper Totes are as easy to wash and care for as they are to use. Place them in the washing machine with warm water and then pull them out and hang dry. You can dry on "Air Dry" in the Dryer, but not on high heat. Obviously it would not be wise to use fabric softeners, chlorine bleach (or any other type of whitening agent) when washing your Bummis Diaper Totes or they may lose their water resistance.
