We live in a very rich, very materialistic society. Even our poor here in the US usually have it much better than those in poverty in the rest of the world. We are blessed, and rich beyond our understanding, and most of us don't even see it. I don't consider myself rich at all. Some months we're living paycheck to paycheck and just trusting...(Read more...)

What would you do if I told you that you could workout for seven minutes and
it would be as good as getting in a 30 minute workout? Think I'm crazy? Is it
too good to be true? Yeah, I thought the same thing when I heard about this
so called seven minute is all that it takes workout. Science, however, begs to
differ. (Read more...)
It's a pretty commonly asked question across cloth diaper Facebook pages, blogs and forums online. "How can I get free cloth diapers?" or "Is there a way I can earn free cloth diapers?" and "Do you know where I can get free cloth diapers?"
I don’t consider myself a medical expert by any means, but the way this country
over medicates is concerning to me. It didn’t seem weird at all until I lived in Spain
for a semester. When I got sick and visited the doctors there, they didn’t give me
the medicine I am accustomed to right away. Whatever they gave me was weaker. (Read more...)

Fall's here and I LOVE everything about it. Why not marry my love of autumn with cloth diapers? Yes, Bert you are a genius. Why thank you!
When my son was a week or two old, I put up a picture of him in a hot pink newborn diaper on Facebook that was captioned: “Real men wear pink.” I didn't always plan on letting him wear our pink diapers.
Our family loves technology and each year we seem to acquire more and more of it. Gone are the days of having to go and rent a VCR at the video store. Now my kids barely know what a VCR is.
I'm confronted with my own and my kids dependence on technology daily and as they get older we're beginning to struggle with finding a balance. Computer time, gaming time, tablet time, smartphone time...When they aren't on one they're trying to use another.

Recently I've had a few expectant moms ask me what I would suggest when it comes to
cloth diapering. Since I've only cloth diapered two babies I can tell you that I'm definitely
not an expert when it comes to experience, I am, however, very well researched since I
write about it frequently. Without further ado, I give to you my cloth diaper must haves
before the baby comes:
Is it me, or is there a baby boom going on this year? I think I know about 20 people who were pregnant at the same time as I was and many of them are first time moms. I'm not really a closet cloth diaperer so I got lots of different Facebook messages asking me all sorts of questions. I've been familiar with cloth diapers for a long time and through a couple of years of research and experience I've learned terms such as “cross-over snaps,” “gussets,” and “soakers.” To someone just starting out however, this might as well be Greek. There are a LOT of options to choose from and it can be completely overwhelming.
From the moment Baby Bear was conceived I couldn't help but to compare him to Bunny. I compared their pregnancies, their deliveries, their birth weights, and their appearances. When Bear started crying I compared their cries, and shortly thereafter, their temperaments. In the past seven weeks since I've known Baby Bear--well, known him outside of the womb--I haven't been able to help myself but to continue comparing them--their sleep habits, their eating habits, even their snuggling preferences.
Parents these days are dealing with some serious diaper issues; constipation, foul smelling, irregular bowel movements you name it. This month I want to help explain why your little one can’t digest food like you right away. Our digestive system is a series of tubes, liquids, and scrubbers; to break it down simply. It all begins in our mouth with saliva and enzymes that begin to break down our food.

Interested in starting up a new running habit? Wanting to get back into tip top running shape postpartum? You should check out a running club that's geared specifically for mothers. As a newer runner I can attest to the camaraderie that's developed through running with a group of girls. Running clubs allow you to sweat together, laugh together, and have a focused conversation with each other. It all sounds good, right? How do you find these groups and what should you look for?
I have a hard time narrowing my favorite diaper brands and diapering systems down because, for the most part, I just love them all and I find different occasions when each is my favorite. Dave and I are now on our second child in cloth diapers—a boy this time—and I’m definitely noticing a trend in our favorites from one child to the next. So, I’ve compiled a list of our go-to diapers for different situations.
I don't know how it is in your household, but naptime is imperative to the well-being of everyone in my home. It's a daily ritual of which that everyone who is home during those golden hours partakes--even my husband.
