Why is it so important than VASKA Diaper Detergent is free of NPEs?
Nonylphenol Ethoxylates are a class of chemicals commonly used in pulp, paper and textile processing. Produced naturally, their toxic presence in the environment is a direct consequence of human production. NPEs break down into Nonylphenol (NP), which is even more toxic than NPEs, and have been found in water, sediment, wastewater, and sludge from municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants.
Identified as a possible endocrine disruptor, NPEs are capable of interfering with the development and reproduction of fish and wildlife. Increasing numbers of scientists point to data showing how these endocrine disruptors disrupt normal hormone activity in humans.
